My good friend Cody Wilburn's father, Coy Wilburn, was diagnosed with stage 3 astrocytoma brain cancer in 2015. He was between jobs with no health insurance when all of this happened.
This year his cancer was upgraded from stage 3 to stage 4 glioblastoma and he had an aggressive brain surgery to remove it. A week later he underwent emergency surgery due to a brain and spinal infection from the previous surgery. He was in the ICU for three weeks. After 4 total brain surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and Avastin over the past 2 yrs.
While Coy was battling against brain cancer, Cody told his Dad that he would attempt to become the first to body weight Lunge The Golden Gate Bridge 3.4 miles to honor his fight. After a grueling fight, Coy lost his battle on August 23rd, 2017. Two weeks after that, Cody accomplished this Goal! He absolutely dominated the 3.4 miles down & back on the Golden Gate Bridge. We did not ask for funds during the GGB lunge. It was in Honor of Coy. The full Live stream was captured on Facebook.
