Baby Anastasia

Hi my name is Karen Hopkins the Aunt of Tiffany Heckman Smith and Tyler Smith Great Aunt to Baby Anastasia.

Baby Anastasia Brielle-Grace, born at 37 weeks. Sugar was under 10 at birth and not breathing. Ended up on cpap, attempted Central lines and umbilical lines with no luck. Transfered to Covenant and will be there a week at least, to maintain breathing and sugars. Feeding tube placed asap and feedings attempted. Tiffany and Tyler will need to travel to Saginaw, MI and stay at hotel pay for food and gas. They both are currently out of work with no income coming in at this time for rent food and bills coming in. Tiffany had Anastasia by C section they are releasing mom this morning so she can get to Saginaw we want to also make sure she has a place to go to and feel comfortable for rest in between seeing baby Anastasia. They also have a toddler almost 2 that they need to provide care for while away. Please help if you can every little bit will help this wonderful family.

Update: baby girl was just diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect. This means there is a hole between the right and left pumping chambers of the heart. A cardiologist has been called in to further assess and determine the next steps. Surgery, if needed will happen at 6 months of age. Please continue to keep Anastasia in your thoughts and prayers.
