Fred McCreery Medical Help

Fred McCreery was originally diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in May of 2012. What we heard from the doctors then was " Oh, you have the good cancer" "It will be like getting your tonsils out" :/ Turns out ... not so much.
He had to have a total neck dissection where they removed his thyroid, parathyroid, larynx (voice box) and 146 lymph nodes, which left him with out a voice, through surgeries and therapy he now speaks through a prosthesis. All of that was a very long and challenging journey to get to this point. He is honestly the most caring, funniest, hard working, and unfortunately the most unlucky man you will meet. Now he is faced with collapsing of his wind pipe (tracheal Malaysia) as well as lung and bone metastasis. His lungs are filling up with fluid, and yesterday they put in a drain that will allow him to go home with it in place. However the sad news that they can not repair his collapsing airways has sunk in, and he will leave UCSF soon on a positive air pressure machine (like a ventilator) to keep his wind pipe open. Despite the gravity of the situation and the anticipation of the months of treatment that lie ahead, Fred's light, warmth and humor shine through.
It is never easy to reach out to family and friends for financial support, however due to having to meet his insurance deductible in both the 2012 and the 2013 plan year, the bills for 2014 are looking insurmountable, this current stay (so far 9 days in ICU) @ UCSF has been a breaking point. We are asking those able, to consider making a donation to help Fred and Cee cover the significant medical expenses.
Please know that any and all help offered to Fred is extremely appreciated, whether it be a financial contribution, a meal, a supportive email, or just a note of encouragement. The support and love is paramount as they face this uphill climb!
We would also like to invite everyone that knows Fred and Cee and the McCreery family to leave messages, prayer petitions or a simple I'm thinking of you to remind them that all their family members, friends, co-workers & classmates are lifting them up in prayer and they are not fighting this alone!
