CPTSD survivor in need

My name is Patrick. I'm 31 years old. For the past six years, I've been helping my mom, my sister, and my sister's boyfriend afford a place to live.

Since my stepdad died of cancer in 2013, we've been in freefall. After an abusive landlord made us leave half our belongings on the side of the road, my family and I lived out of the car for two years, in between motels. This nearly killed my mom. She's on an oxygen machine now.

My sister and I both worked hard; she's better at organizing the home stuff. I worked 60-hour weeks in the warehouses when my body would let me. I injured my spine at Amazon after getting written up for taking the time to use a stepladder, and then got written up again when my injury slowed me down. After a string of stress-induced seizures in 2019, I was too dizzy to walk without a cane for nine months, and I was never the same.

In May 2022, I lost my job at a veterinary clinic -- the light of my life -- as the seizures and memory loss worsened. As a survivor of multiple counts of domestic abuse, I have had complex post-traumatic stress disorder since roughly age 6. I haven't been able to get treatment for it until this year. I have exhausted my Family Medical Leave benefits and have no other income to get through this month.

My disability application has been in the system since May, and they tell me they're 90% done with it. Still, there's no telling how long that last "10%" will take them. I'm scared. I don't want to be homeless again.

I'm trying to get better. I've been seeing a trauma specialist regularly since September. Little by little, I'm exercising again, regaining the mobility I've lost to these seizures. Still, if my life falls apart now, I'm afraid I won't have the chance to get better.

I need $550 for my share of the mortgage, $300 for utilities, and $20 to cover transaction fees.

UPDATE: I'm so thankful for all the help I have gotten since I posted this in October. Unfortunately, disability is still processing my application, and I'm still without income. Another month means another $870 to cover monthly expenses.

UPDATE: 2/13/2023 My application was finally denied, and I have been appointed a lawyer to appeal it. I might have to wait another whole year for resolution; in the meantime, I need another $850 to cover another month. Thank you for seeing me through the previous months; I humbly ask for help making it through another. Any little bit helps. Thank you for your time and consideration.

UPDATE 9/6/2023 This should be the final push. The Disability department has told me that they've ruled in my favor. All that's left is an interview at some unspecified date, later this month. I just need to make it until then. I've been able to secure $300 of EBT benefits through a separate program, so this month, we only need $500 to break even.

We have an end in sight. I can't begin to adequately express my gratitude to all of you. To my named and anonymous donors: you all have saved my life. I only have to lean on your mercies a little while longer -- and then I promise I will pay your kindness forward. Thank you all.

UPDATE: 10/16/2023 lol EBT went back and denied the $300 in benefits, so never mind that. We're back to the $870 monthly estimate. Sorry to share false hope.
