Helping Mary

Hi, we're Janet, Brendan & Sandra - we are crowdfunding for a vulnerable elderly Swindon lady who at this time, wishes to remain anonymous, so we will call her Mary.

**Mary’s house was gutted today (18th) and she’s safe and sound at a friends house for now.**

Mary lives alone and survives on a state pension - she has broken heating system (originally leaked, twice which flooded the kitchen) - a leak from a water pipe in the attic (originally thought to be a roof leak) which saturated her bedroom….  

UPDATE: there was a further leak discovered today which has rotted all the floors. The house has been gutted.  

All of this has resulted in all of her home succumbed to black mould and damp - everywhere. *Please view all the photos.*

With no heating and no hot water, Mary relies on a kettle for her hot drinks and a microwave for hotmeals. 

UPDATE: kitchen was also infested with rats - all dead bar one that escaped. 

This is wholly unacceptable, you wouldn't have an animal live like this, let alone a vulnerable human being.

We are doing what we can to get things sorted for her but it’s worse than originally thought. 

At the time of writing, we have reached out to Warm & Safe Wiltshire in the hope we will can get Mary's central heating sorted out - this is pending.

We've had a bed donated but we still need to fund for other items.

I should mention that Mary was recently in hospital with pneumonia and has heart failure. No MATTER how small your donation, every single penny will go toward making Mary as comfortable as she can be.
