Joel's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
This is my son Joel Peck. He is 18 years old. Three and half months ago Joel was a passenger in a vehicle involved in an accident in which his older brother William, 26, was tragically killed. Doctors gave us very little hope for any quality of life for Joel. They said they weren't sure if his cognitive abilities and suggested he would never get up from that hospital bed again.
However, Joel is a fighter and through the grace of God, he is now eating and breathing on his own, and able to sit up for hours in a day. As of now Joel is able to get around to a degree, in a motorized chair using his chin. His family and friends are praying for continued improvement and expect to bring him home in January. Our greatest challenges are 1- adjusting our home. 2- Obtaining a van equipped to accommodate Joel's circumstances. His mother Danielle and his father William, have been by his side throughout this ordeal, creating great personal and financial hardship for them, and they are reluctant to ask for financial assistance. Their friends have set up this GoFundMe page to allow Danielle and William to focus on Joel and not have to worry about financial burdens. We have many family, friends, and community members ready to volunteer time and money for needed structural changes to the home and in the location and purchase of the wheelchair and van to accommodate it. We would consider a contribution of any amount as a blessing. We will continue to post Joel's progress going forward.
