First and foremost Alyssa and I would like to thank all of you for your love, support, and prayers. We may never be able to put into words how this has helped us during this difficult time and what it means to Brad's recovery.
On 7/7/20 Brad had a significant bicycling accident. As a 10 yr old boy, Brad wanted nothing to do with bikes. As a 30 yr old man, he became an avid rider and tri-athlete, competing in several Ironman competitions. Brad said, "Cycling is my third passion behind family and friends.” Given the opportunity, there is no doubt that Brad will be back on his bike setting new goals for himself.
Since the accident, Brad has been fighting to recover. He is physically stable but remains in a coma due to a Traumatic Brain Injury. His recovery will be long and challenging for the next year. However, if you know Brad... a challenge is the only motivation he needs to push himself harder.
Post accident, so many of you have reached out and asked What can I do? What can I make? How can I help? We needed to take a few days to truly understand and grasp the magnitude of his injury and what his recovery would look like. So, we decided to start this campaign so he and his wife Alyssa can concentrate solely on his recovery. The medical hurdles ahead will be overwhelming, and the associated financial hardships will be as well. We felt that lessening one of these two burdens was our best answer to all your questions of "What can we do?"
During Brad's hospitalization, Alyssa has become acquainted with other families going through the same anxieties and feelings of helplessness. We will "Pay it Forward" to these families as soon as Brad is well enough. He would insist on this!
As Brad's Mom, (Marci White ) , Alyssa and I deeply Thank you for your continued support, well wishes, and encouraging thoughts during this long and difficult road ahead.
