Craig Culbertson Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2022 after his passing, the Craig Culbertson Memorial Scholarship was created to recognize and support Colfax High School students who, in their participation in music and/or athletics, have exemplified his ideals of teamwork and positive collaborative working.

These scholarships are not only about supporting his two favorite activities in high school (participating in the choir and several CHS musicals, as well as football and basketball), but also about recognizing and honoring his dedication to working together with others to create meaningful and valuable group experiences through teamwork by contributing one’s own unique strengths and gifts to the whole.

In his role as an assistant football coach and offensive coordinator after his graduation, he inspired players to give their best toward cultivating growth and success to the individual and the team.

In his daily life with friends and neighbors, and in his work life with co-workers and colleagues, he believed in cooperation and collaboration, seeing the best in others and working together for the highest and best outcome.

Each year, we hope to award a scholarship to two students, one each from the music and athletic departments, who have exemplified these ideals and the spirit of working together, and who have inspired others with their leadership and encouragement.
