As many of you know, our father Jon Craig Seelye passed away September 26th after a lengthy illness. His memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas on October 19th at 1pm with a brief visitation to follow.
If you knew our dad for longer than about 30 seconds, you would know 2 things: how much he loved Jesus and how much he loved his wife Dana. Our parents moved to the Houston area earlier this year to be near their grandkids and to enjoy their retirement. However, Dad got sicker faster than any of us could have predicted. Now that Mom is starting this new chapter in her life, she desires to be back in Arlington, with her friends and church community and the things that are most familiar to her. This move will take place in November. We are so proud of her and are very supportive of this decision. However, moving, no matter how you do it, is expensive and our desire is to try and make this transition as easy for her as possible. Because of his young age, Dad's life insurance policy was not fully vested so we are able to cover some of his funeral expenses but not all of them. With that being said, we are hoping that instead of flowers you would consider making a donation to Mom's moving expenses. Dad would be so happy to know that his Dana is being well cared for because no one did that better than him. We thank you so much for your prayers on behalf of our family during this season and are grateful for your support of our Mom on our Dad's behalf.
