Craig Smith Medical Fundraiser
Donation protected
Happy 2024!
It's time to help Craig Smith!!!!!!
Craig Smith is a local builder, carpenter and surfer! Craig was a student in the West Carteret class of 1978, and has been a first class contractor/builder for many years and has many friends here and all over. He still remembers driving
school bus #44 from the west end of the county to all the schools!
About three years ago our class and other friends and family came together to assist our friend Mike Doran with medical expenses to help in acquiring a new liver. It was a very successful effort that made such a difference to Mike, his family and our class. Mike was very appreciative of all who contributed and shared messages and calls with him.
Now Craig needs the same effort! He has been battling prostate cancer for almost two years; it has also started to spread to other parts of his body. He is scheduled to start NINE weeks of radiation therapy soon under the care of Dr. Art Klose, who is also dealing with prostate cancer (three years!) Craig has been a trooper throughout the battle and has a very positive attitude; he promises me he will see us at our 50th WCHS reunion this year!! He is physically slowed down and tired from the disease but his photographic memory and courage are over the top!
Please help in these ways:
1) Pray for and think of him
2) Reach out and contact Craig; contact me for his info! It will make his day!
3) Consider donating to this fund-all proceeds will go to Craig to assist with his medical and living expenses (his condition limits his ability to work full time)
I hope that all who read Craig's story will consider helping out. Craig always talks of helping others and takes pride in the fact that his work over the years has helped many of his customers and their families. I have assured him that we will gather around our classmate and friend to help him any way we can. I am proud to be part of such a "classy" class that I know will do their part.
Please contact me for any reason. I will of course post updates to show our progress. I am starting this page but it is not mine; it is OURS (you, me and Craig!) Thanks for being the great friends I know that you are! God Bless You!
