Craig’s injury recovery
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
There won’t be too many people connected to our great football club, Ipswich Knights FC, who won’t be familiar with the names Craig and Amy McKeown.
For years, Craig has worked selflessly to nurture and develop our next generation of footballers. Craig commits endless hours, and makes monumental sacrifices, to ensure our junior footballers have the resources, skills and platform they need to love the game like he does. Craig is a passionate coach and mentor who is driven by seeing his players learn and develop. He’s one of those guys who moves huge mountains for the club behind the scenes. He wears a hundred club hats. He has never refused an opportunity to help. And he does it all without expectation of public acknowledgment or accolade. Craig embodies all that is good about Ipswich Knights FC.
Sadly this week, Craig was involved in an unfortunate accident resulting in significant injuries to his leg. He is currently undergoing multiple surgeries and is in a stable condition. In the days ahead, Craig will meet the recovery ward, and with that comes a very, very long road ahead. He promises to return to the club as soon as he can, though please understand if that can’t happen for some time. Amy is plugging away at home shouldering the additional load, continuing to work, managing the kids, as well as her own relentless responsibilities for the club. Like Craig, Amy has forged her own unshakeable bond to IKFC.
Craig and Amy are givers in every sense of the word. Their work rates and outcomes are immeasurable. Despite their private inclinations, Craig and his family are facing an enormous hour of need. In fact, hundreds of hours. This Go Fund Me page has been set up to assist Craig getting back on his feet… both figuratively and literally. It aims to relieve some of the burden on Craig and his family during his prolonged recovery.
If you are in a position to help, please donate.
