My sweet sister Katie has three young kids, Carter is 8, Carly is 5, and Hailey is 2, all pictured below. Her husband Andy just graduated medical school in April, and started his first year in residency this fall. Andy had a very unexpected, major stroke last week. He was completely paralyzed for a short time and by a miracle, he has regained all his speech and movement, they found a large hole in his heart, and he has to get heart surgery this week to repair it! With his stay in the hospital, ICU, MRI's, medicine that is mandatory for him, traveling to Utah to meet with the cardiologist that can perform the surgery he needs, having the heart surgery, taking time off work, and providing their kids even a small Christmas is a lot for them to pay right now. This beautiful family needs our help so much!
We want to help lift this financial burden, so that they can focus their strength on Andy and helping him through this surgery and heal! We are so grateful that Andy is alive and still with us, and that the doctors caught what was wrong and are able to do surgery! You can imagine how scary this is for Katie and Andy, we want to offer any help we can, and we know with all of you we can!!
