Cranial Helmet for Nolan Wade

Our son Nolan developed positional plagiocephaly at a few months old. 
Plagiocephaly is the malformation of the skull usually characterized by a flat spot. He also developed torticolis Which is a tightening of one side of his neck (stiff neck) which caused his head to tilt to one side which was the primary cause of his plagiocephaly but also babies skulls are very soft during their first year and because of safe sleeping practices, most tend to only lay on one part of their head, which can cause a flat spot. Normally that can correct itself with time and everything is fine. However if it doesn't correct itself and it proceeds to get worse, it can cause facial misalignment which can misalign the jaw and cause speech issues down the road in the future. Nolan's got a pretty GOOD case of Plagiocephaly and the specialist who we saw to evaluate him informed us that insurance will not cover the cost because they view it as "cosmetic" and don't take into account the complications this can cause if untreated down the road. We hate to even think about starting a go fund me page but paying for a custom plagiocephaly helmet put of pocket is out of the question for us right now. Once he has his helmet, we will also be required to to go to Dallas every week to get it adjusted. Any little bit will help offset the cost of his helmet and weekly specialist visits. And if for some reason he ends up not being able to get it every penny of your donations will be returned!!!
