1 MILLION CRAYONS 4 TEACHERS
Tax deductible
Well, we did it! We donated 1,009,500 crayons to teachers in LAUSD & Head Start in LA County, just in time for back-to-school, and we set a Guinness World Record in the process! The emotions we all felt or these extremely grateful teachers was palpable and all of us had goosebumps. Our efforts help the environment + teachers/kids year round especially with our Color Kindness Project and new Art Education Program, that has been a huge hit (we have been honored by the LAUSD school board, Congress and Senate for it!).
It was a huge success and we hope that we will see some change in the issues teachers are facing in our system of education. This awareness building event was to shine light on the fact that our teachers are forced to spend $900/year of their PERSONAL earnings on classroom supplies AND that we have virtually zero funding for art programs in public schools.
Huge thanks to Nickelodeon, LA SPARKS, Penguin and AYSO for helping us so much!

We also built a MAZE with 1 million crayons! Yassi Mazandi was the artist who created it. Check out how we built it:
