When Carden School of Sacramento closed, it left a gap in the education field for parents who want the best well rounded education for their students with individualized instruction.
Mrs. Brown, Madame Caro, Ms. Cowley, Mrs. Landgraf, Mr. Pena and Mrs. Pillay have the opportunity to start a new Carden School in Sacramento, but they need your help. Timing is critical. They have found a location, now need your help to secure the site in time to open this fall. The school will be nondenominational.
The school is now incorporated, has a FEIN and is on the way to becoming a 501 (c)(3).
The Carden teachers are eager to start anew. Help support their dream.
Funds raised will be used to secure the site under negotiations, buy books and help cover costs for the school’s computer network

“Mae Carden established the first CARDEN SCHOOL® in 1934 at 24 East 68th Street in New York City. She demonstrated that children can gain an understanding of their own language and attain the ability to use it correctly when reading, listening, speaking, or writing. Her goal was to teach children to think.
The CARDEN METHOD®
The CARDEN METHOD® is a vital educational philosophy with proven teaching techniques applied to a curriculum concerned with the development of the whole child. The Carden curriculum begins with three-year-old children and continues through middle school, each level reinforcing and building upon the strengths gained by the student during the previous year.
Using a highly individualized approach, Carden meets each learner’s particular needs. Children receive the sound, well-rounded education they need to realize their full potential in life. Carden believes that life is a joy, and so should be learning. This attitude promotes a life-long love of learning among Carden students.
The Carden curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, history, science, and geography. A cultural program engenders appreciation of art and music. A drama program affords participation for every student. A guidance program develops the student by awakening each child to ethical and social values.”

Different from other Schools
Focus on individualized learning and development of the whole child. The culture of a Carden School is one of respect for others.
“The Pillars of the Carden Academy Experience
At Carden, education is founded on three fundamental principles:
Reason:
Teaching the fundamentals of logic behind the subject matter for deeper understanding
Respect:
Developing respect for themselves and for others
Responsibility:
Taking ownership of their words and actions.
“We are aware that the pattern of life is Cause and Effect, and that the only way to assure the desired effect is to weigh life’s values, bear them in mind, act in accordance with them, and reap the nice reward.” —Mae Carden
The aim of Carden Academy of Almanden is to develop a student who is competent in academic areas, speaks well, is poised, has acquired good manners, is cognizant of a proper code of ethics, and continues to absorb the knowledge of the cultural aspects of life.”

Sacramento Carden Academy adds the following traits as being important:
Communication - every student from T-K through Grade 8 is taught how to present themselves through writing, digital communication, art, performance art and public speaking.
Coding - we understand in today’s world, traditional education can be enhanced by digital technology. It is important our students be able to work to direct technology to useful purpose.
Compassion - every student should develop a sympathetic consciousness of others, so they are able to work to solve problems of the community through community service.
Sacramento Education
The Greater Sacramento educational community will benefit from Carden because there is currently no other school like it in the metro area.
