Create a Lasting Tribute for Lucy at Lincoln Park Zoo

We are raising money to honor the memory of Lucy (Lindgren) Newman, beloved mother, daughter, wife, friend and beautiful soul.

On September 1st, 2023, Daisy Newman was welcomed into the world by first time parents Lucy and Daniel Newman. Shortly after having an emergency c-section, Lucy faced severe complications and passed away on September 11th, 2023.

We are fundraising to have a dedication to Lucy at Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago. We hope that in the future, Daisy can visit this memorial and see her Mom’s name in a positive, loving environment.

When researching dedication options, Lincoln Park Zoo stood out because it’s such a staple of Chicago, and Lucy was a Chicago Woman through and through. Born and raised in Chicago, just off the Diversey Brown Line, Lucy attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, and Columbia College in Chicago, where she studied Graphic Design and met Daniel. Growing up she would go around Chicago with her parents Laura and Bill visiting all of the museums, zoos and parks, eating at incredible and diverse restaurants all over Chicago, attending Second City, Chicago for a summer camp, and of course walking for miles along the Mag. Mile.

We hope this memorial honors Lucy’s love for life and can serve as a joyful reminder to everyone of her spirit.
