Create a sacred shrine for White Khechari

Sacred Stream Sanctuary is a retreat and meditation space on a beautiful private property in rural Landenberg, PA. Blessed with a stream, forest, gardens, and abundant wildlife in the heartland of the ancient Lenape people, the land provides an opportunity to experience profound spiritual connection to nature. Featuring a medicine wheel mandala, a meditation gazebo, a unique dakini/yogini chakra garden, and multiple outdoor shrines, the main feature of the sanctuary is a lovely red temple by the stream. This small temple will house the Vajrayana Buddhist Dakini White Khechari, a rare form of Vajrayogini, practiced in the Barway Dorje treasure dharma lineage, an unbroken lineage of practice and study that is said to be especially beneficial for the difficult times we are in. As a treasure of the enlightened yogini Yeshe Tsogyal, this rare and powerful practice has great potential to relieve us of our inner delusions and negative tendencies, and to reveal the vast, free, blissful wisdom energy that is our true nature. Under the guidance of our spiritual teacher, Vajra Master Lama Tashi Topgyal, lineage holder from Raktrul Monastery in Eastern Tibet, who currently resides and teaches at Kunzang Palchen Ling in upstate New York, we wish to create a traditional sacred space for meditation and worship in this practice tradition.

Over the six years we have been here, the land has continually revealed its beautiful sacred energy, and we have responded by creating a variety of places and ways to engage in meditation and practice. Many people who have spent time here have felt the particular blessings of the sacred feminine, in a variety of forms. The red temple at the heart of the sanctuary has been a private temple to this divine feminine for some time. In 2022 this divine feminine energy has expressed itself in the form of the tantric Buddhist dakini White Khechari. Under Lama Tashi Topgyal's guidance, we are creating a traditional temple to house her image, which can serve as a place of practice and teaching in the future. We envision the possibility of traditional short and long-term retreats, with camping on the land, for dedicated practitioners who wish to learn and deepen their connection to this practice.

Our initial goal is to raise $3,500 to cover the initial costs of constructing a shrine inside the temple and sponsoring sacred artwork for the interior. The construction plan calls for lumber, labor, and other materials for the shrine. For the divine images, there will be the expenses of high quality photo reproduction at large size and framing, until we are able to commission original thangkas (a future goal).
