Create Hope ... We Can Do This ... Together

We are Grandads Front Room CIC, Community Support Shop and we are here to alleviate struggle, build hope, create smiles and take worry away by assisting those that are facing uncertainty.

Whether it be due to domestic abuse, homelessness, recovery from drug or alcohol abuse, low income, disability or those that have been affected by the impact of Covid... we are here to help in whatever way we can.

We primarily furnish homes with items that are needed but often at an expense that is not affordable and frequently help those that have to nothing to kit their homes out with everything from pots and pans/knives and forks to white goods and beds.

What do we charge?

Nothing... those that have nothing pay us in tears and smiles but we cannot bank them sadly and we need to pay our bills and keep the vans on the road.

Items that are donated to us are kept by us (we are like caretakers), repaired/cleaned/PAT tested by us if needed and then delivered to those that are struggling.

The alternative is that people either take out loans they cannot afford, cut back on food, electric, gas and generally descend into debt or ill health...

We can help to alleviate all of this by being a more sharing and caring Community.

We at Grandads Front Room CIC are all Volunteers and no-one has been paid in over six years and no-one ever will be... We do this as a group because it should be done.

We have bills and the pandemic wiped us out as almost EVERY penny we had (and were granted by Govt) went to our Landlords as we still had to pay rent but had almost zero income and yet still we managed to service the needs our Community had.

We rarely ask for financial assistance as we survive on limited funds as we believe in cutting our cloth accordingly and not spending where spending is not necessary ... we are frugal (I'm a Yorkshireman by birth and that means I make EVERY penny count).

We believe in being transparent:

The rent for our shop premises is £2680/quarter

Our utilities are approx £200/quarter

The vans costs are approx £900/quarter inc diesel (a sponsor for them would be a dream).

Associated other costs are approx £250-£300/quarter

We try to raise the funds for this through our shop which sells vintage and retro items that we receive from donations and house clearances but trade has not been what it used to be but we are fighting and putting as many hours as we can in and we will not give in...

People need us and we need you...
