Create Sabrina's Oasis

Mission Conquer:  Round 2

I’d much prefer NOT asking for donations to this campaign.  That would mean Sabrina wasn’t in Round 2 of the fight.  However, she is and I AM asking for donations to "Create Sabrina’s Oasis".

My Side of the Story

Sabrina is a wonderful friend whom I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for just a couple of years.  We met through Hope Afloat USA, a breast cancer survivor dragon boat team.   Our connection was immediate and I love her to pieces.  We were supposed to be traveling with our team- spending two weeks racing and frolicking around Italy this summer.  However, the ‘c’ word had other plans for our girl.

Where We Are Now
Sabrina already had surgery and has started her regimen of treatment.  It will include 4 treatments, each being three week cycles of chemo (12 weeks), followed by about 5 ½ weeks of radiation.

I wanted to do something for her.  I understand better than most what recovering from hell feels like, having done the same regimen five years ago.  I wanted to help create her backyard oasis, knowing how important a happy, peaceful and serene space is for recovery.  My initial request on Facebook was well intentioned but got no response.  So, here I am.

The Request

Please consider a donation to help cover the design and execution of Sabrina’s Oasis.

The time to donate is NOW, so we can get started and ultimately complete the work while she is at home, recovering from Round 2 of hell on earth.

The biggest component of the project will require a contractor of some sort (landscaper, hardscape, concrete etc).  An oasis isn’t just flowers, it’s a design that allows Sabrina the space to heal, as well as cherish the moments and time with Sienna, Landon, Eddie, Juneau, Aspen, Porter and Slater.  Oh yeah, her family and friends too!  We will likely have offers to help with planting, etc once this work is complete!

Help Spread the Word

Sabrina is a young survivor. She didn’t deserve this diagnosis the first time, let alone this time.  I want to raise as much money as we can for her.  If there is money left over, great!  She can use it in any way she sees fit.  We know medical bills are crazy high with this type of diagnosis (I’m still paying mine off, five years later).

So, please share this to your social media. Have your friends and family share it as well.  Help me get the word out so we can “Create Sabrina’s Oasis” ASAP!

Gratitude

I’ve learned a lot about gratitude since my diagnosis.  I’ve changed how I live since then; waking up each morning, reflecting on the things that matter and being grateful for them.

I’m grateful for Sabrina and our friendship.

I’m grateful for those of you that took the time to read my story.

I’m grateful for those that will donate and help
“Create Sabrina’s Oasis".
