Nachson Mimran: Photographs from the decade that changed my life

Nachson Mimran is a father, entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of to.org, Creative Director and Chairman of the Board of The Alpina Gstaad. Founded in 2015 by Nachson and his brother Arieh Mimran, to.org is a venture fund, foundation, and collection of creative endeavours, all focused on accelerating solutions to Earth’s most pressing challenges.

With these funds we would equip creatives with necessary materials & technology to support them as they unlock their creative potential. Beneficiaries are young creatives in refugee settlements and urban slums in East Africa:

  • Art supplies for public murals
  • Photo & video equipment
  • Music instruments, hardware and software

For the super donor, we are looking for minimum CHF 50K to support Kibera Creative Arts Organization in constructing a multidisciplinary art center in Kenya’s largest slum.

Nachson’s childhood in West Africa inspired a passion for nature and humanity that guides the to.org mission. A father of four living in the Swiss Alps, Nachson spends his downtime skiing and hiking with friends & family, and nurturing his inner artist with solo projects and collaborations, ranging from 3D printed structures using waste plastic to tackle sanitation and shelter crises, to furniture and sustainable clothing. Nachson believes that art, design, and architecture can be used as a Trojan horse, embedding thought-provoking messages of purpose while showcasing possible solutions to the challenges facing our planet.

In the exhibition “Nachson Mimran: Photographs from the decade that changed my life” viewers are taken on a journey through Nachson’s life from 2016 through 2023, captured on his collection of treasured Leica Monochrome cameras. From refugee settlements and urban slums in Bangladesh and Uganda to rural communities in Ecuador and Senegal, the Swiss Alps and the Mediterranean sea, each image is a moment from a journey, telling a tale of philanthropy, creativity, and friendship.
