Hello! I am hoping to raise some funds for an Epilepsy Monitor and Ambulance bills for my sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Tony Creech, in hopes to help get them through a tight and trying time.
As most of you know, their youngest daughter, Soren Ivy, had three consecutive grand mal seizures 2 weeks ago after being ill and then spent some time in the hospital. They have been told they are responsible to pay for the ambulance both to Moose Jaw hospital as well as the transfer to Regina General (haven’t received the bills yet, will update when we have numbers.) Timing of these large expenses has been bad with both Tony and Amy working for themselves and also losing work while dealing with the emergency, the hospital stay and the aftermath.
Tony and Amy are also ordering a seizure-detecting monitor for when Soren sleeps so that they can be alerted should she have another one during the night. Night-time and nap-time are dangerous times if unmonitored for tonic-clonic seizures with risks of injury and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). Soren’s not been formally diagnosed with Epilepsy yet but is at high risk of another seizure or cluster of seizure with possible Epilepsy diagnoses. IMPORTANT: If Soren is cleared and seizure free without medication in 12-24 month, or if she is able to grow out of Epilepsy after being diagnosed, they will donate the very expensive monitor to a family with needs such a monitor for their child. SO if Soren ends up being cleared, your donation will still go to helping a needed family keep their epileptic child/family member safe.
