On Wednesday, May 11th, Stephen fell climbing. He was bouldering and at the tip-top of a climb when his hand slipped suddenly and he landed on his left side. Despite the thick mats under the rock walls, he knew immediately he was seriously injured. His family had no idea it was this bad or something like this could happen from climbing as stress relief and exercise at a local gym.

Thankfully his neck and back are okay. He is indeed lucky despite feeling like this is the most unlucky thing to ever happen to him. He is facing multiple surgeries and months of healing and physical therapy. His family is staying positive, but the reality is that this is just very hard. His time with his daughter Stella is going to look different for a while. His artwork is on hold and their family trip to Paris for his show is canceled. But despite all those changes, his family is looking at the positives, they are learning, they are coping and Stephen is a rockstar fire soul who is going to overcome this major challenge. He will be non-weight-bearing on both limbs for up to 3 months and recovery is on a 6-month timeline currently.

Because of all of this, Stephen's little family world has been put in a clay mixer and they are thoroughly shook. They will need extra help during his recovery time. While their health insurance covers a lot of the medical bills, his recovery will add an additional financial burden. I'm asking our community for their financial support to help Stephen, Heather, and Stella. This little family is full of fighters, but even fighters need help.
