For a self sufficient small business owner, this is one of the hardest things to do, but today I am writing on behalf of my husband and myself to ask the community to help our small business, Crescent Moon Gifts, survive the covid-19 shutdown. Like many other small businesses we have been asked to close to the public. Our small team consists of 9 wonderful staff members that come to work each day to help our community by supporting their spiritual growth with genuine care. Whether you come in to just soak up the good vibes, need a perfect gift for a loved one having a hard time, or seek knowledge on a variety of topics; it is our mission to to give each guest special attention. Many have called our building a safe haven and refuge, and it was heart breaking to close our doors to the public when the world needed that safe space.
While Daniel and I have diligently gone into work daily to fill web orders, do fb live shopping and revamp things in the building, sadly the income generated only covers a small portion of our expenses. We have been committed to paying our staff their full wages even though they are on leave, but as self employed people there are no resources for us to pay ourselves except through sales, which since closing to the public have just not been enough. Being sole proprietors we have applied for different grants and loans for our business, but like many others have not yet received a response back and know the supply will not meet the demand for all who need it. We do not qualify for the government stimulus so many are receiving as our business was doing quite well last year at tax time. We do appreciate each and every person that has continued to support us over the past couple weeks, but it will be a long journey before we can safely reopen, and quite simply we need the help of our greater community at this time.
For the past 16 years we have been honored to be of service to the community and know this too shall pass and we will come back like a phoenix reborn. We look forward to that day and know with a little community support we will definitely make it!
Every dollar received will go directly to help cover ongoing business expenses and operating costs, and we will be eternally grateful for any and every donation.
