Crew Member Support
Donation protected
Last week the world was awakened to shocking news in the diving community. The vessel Conception had a fire break out and was engulfed in flames. The survivors are five crew members out of the 39 individuals aboard the vessel. This is a tragedy of the greatest proportion in diving history.
The diving community is a very tight knit group that reaches much further than the Santa Barbara Harbor, but worldwide. There is even a smaller subdivision of that which are the crew that work on all charter vessels. This profession is a lifestyle as well as a career. Crews know their job description consists of seasonal hours that are long and hard.
Due to the severity of the accident and the ongoing investigation, the operation of the entire Truth Aquatics fleet is halted, leaving fifteen crew members without work or pay.
The crew is devastated by the loss of lives in this tragedy, and is experiencing heavy grief with the entire diving community. They are also suffering as they wait for answers without being able to work. They depend on this seasonal work to sustain them through the year.
This gofundme page has been set up in support of these hard working crew members. The funds raised will be used entirely to help these crew members during this very difficult time while they are without work and pay.
We ask for your generous support to help these men and women in a serious time of mourning, healing and need. Anything you are able to donate is gratefully appreciated.
***Edited to stated that the funds will be sent to The Stardust Sportsfishing and they will distribute funds to the active full time crew members ***
