Crippled Completion Fundraiser

OUR GOAL:

We are raising completion funds for our film Crippled.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

Crippled is a psychological horror film about a man with Muscular Dystrophy and the nightmarish journey of dealing with an oppressive nurse.

BUT... WHY NOW?:

Roughly two years ago, Unicorn Propaganda began production on Crippled.

Due to Covid delaying production and realizing we should transition the project from a short into a feature, post-production has become quite the journey. We are nearly there, and overall, we are very happy with what we have created so far.

However, after some needed scrutiny, we have decided that there is still some fleshing out for our main villain. What we’re planning to film is an expansion of who this character is and the world they live in. All good villains need a lair, right? We felt ours should have one as well.

HISTORY:

Will and Zak have been friends and co-collaborators for over ten years. Together, they are the creators of the production company Unicorn Propaganda. Their award-winning films have been shown in over 40 festivals across five continents. They have also been embedded in the disabled community through various advocacy groups such as Creative Chance, MDA, The Arc Baltimore, and AHF. Will currently serves in Maryland as a therapist with a Master’s degree in mental health counseling. Zak now works as a filmmaker/videographer in beautiful Burbank, CA.

WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING:

Set Design Costs: This is where a large percentage of our budget is going. Along with life-size set pieces, we will be building a miniature set.

Props: Outside of the set itself, we need to film with various oddities and items used to control Will over the course of the film.

Cast and Crew: We are working with some of the most creative minds and hardest working souls there are, and they deserve to be compensated for their work.

Food: Outside of payment, we have to ensure everyone is well-fed.

Gear: Camera, Lenses, Lights, Stands, and Audio Equipment; you can't have a film without gear.

Additional Sound Design Cost: Additional scenes will require more time/resources for sound design.

Additional Score Cost: This will likely include additional scoring in certain parts of the film and likely minor restructuring of existing tracks.

Color Grade: This is the 2nd to the last step. Once we finish color, we are essentially done with the film.

Film Festival/Promotional Fees: We must sell the film and gain good word of mouth. Any additional funds raised past our initial goal will pay for advertisement, film festival fees, promo materials, and travel fees so we can attend the festivals!
