My name is Cristhian García (27) , I lost my right leg, from the hip, when I was 15 years old. I had Ewing's sarcoma. At that time my whole life changed dramatically. I fought for my life and fortunately my cancer is in remission and under control. Despite my disease and new disability , I completed my secondary studies and then I completed a degree in Customs Administration at the University College of Administration and Marketing (CUAM).

However, today I need major repairs to my prosthesis. I am not able to use my current prosthesis, now I walk on crutches.

Over time the model does not fit me anymore. Some parts need to be replaced.

A prosthesis for my level of amputation ( at the hip ) requires a sophisticated piece of medical engineering and, consequently, it is very expensive, a country, Venezuela where 77% of the population lives in extreme poverty' (Andrés Bello Catholic University) and almost 10 % of the population has emigrated due to an economic crisis.

Here life is particularly difficult for someone with a severe disability and unaffordable prostheses. However, I am determined to move forward, find a job and follow my passion for sports and more particularly skateboarding. Skateboarding first caught my attention when I watched a video on YouTube. I found a place where I could practice and learn about the sport and, as time went by, I got better and better.I mastered my sport so well that , Pow Clothing, an urban fashion brand, sponsored me for two years. However, the economic situation in Venezuela put an end to my sponsorship . From there, I learned the most important thing: that in this life everything can be done regardless if a person has a disability, everything is in the mind and in the heart.

To resume a normal life, I desperately need to have my prosthetic leg repaired which would cost me $5 000. I need your support to help me to live fully and contribute to our society.
