It is with immense sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Cristina Marie Hernandez on Monday, December 19.

Cristina had just picked up her son, Jacob, from school that afternoon when a car crashed into them, taking her life and leaving her son in critical condition in Joe DiMaggio Hospital.

Cristina was an ICU nurse at Jackson Memorial, an amazing one. She dedicated her life to making sure every patient under her care received the best treatment possible.

She was also a wife, a sister, a daughter, a great friend, but most of all, Cristina was an amazing mother.

We have organized this GoFundMe, on behalf of her Medical ICU family, to help cover her funeral expenses, to assist with the medical bills from Jacob’s ongoing battle, and to help her husband and family during this unbelievable time.

As a community, we can come together to financially support our beloved Cristina, her son and her family who have already endured so much pain. We are also asking for prayers for Jacob so that he can make a full recovery and return to his family.
