Daughter Terrorized/Robbed at Gunpt
Donation protected
My lovely daughter was attacked at gunpoint two nights ago (12/16) by two African American men who forced themselves into her apartment in North Bergen, NJ. They immediately grabbed her around the neck and choaked her till she passed out. They duct tape her whole head - to keep her eyes closed and shoved a sock soaked with lighter fluid in her mouth and taped it as well. When she woke, she was forced into the bathtub.
While trying to fight them, they hit her with the handle of the gun to her face/head. She was held at gunpoint in the tub by one intruder while the other ransacked the apartment. She was told not to move or they would shoot.
She is lucky to be alive, however, she is very traumatized as well as badly bruised and has contusions on her face, neck and arms. She also has injury to her gums and inside her mouth most likely from the lighter fluid. She currently suffers from anxiety and there will no doubt be post traumatic syndrome issues.
The intruders took her purse with some money and all her ID. She and her girlfriend just realized they stole approximately $2,000. They hadn't gotten to the bank and had money set aside for their rent, utilities, food,Christmas presents...as well as money set aside, for a surprise birthday party for my daughter as her birthday is Christmas Eve.
However, the most important/cherished item in the world was stolen from my daughter.....around her neck was a silver heart/locket with her grandmother's ashes. It wasn't worth much, but to her it was worth the world! She cries about that the most.
Now when my daughter's girlfriend returned she took her to the emergency room for multiple tests and, thank God, no life threatening injuries, however, my daughter does not have health insurance so we are anticipating a hefty bill from that night as well as follow-ups with her doctors including help for the PTSD.
It would be wonderful to be able to give her back some of what was taken from her. Without going into detail, she has had more than her share of traumatic issues in her short 25 years of life....some of which she was just recovering from.
I believe that whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger and she Will gain strength from this adversity.
I am asking for many prayers as well...the power of prayer to help heal this young woman. I understand times are tough for many and even if you cannot donate, Please, Please keep Cristina in your prayers!
