Critical Medicines for Sri Lankan Hospitals
Donation protected
Due to the economic situation in Sri Lanka some of the government hospitals are running very low on certain critical medications. For example, one of the Children's wards need 5 vials of Vaminolact *per day* (One vial was Rs. 1500 = ~$5) for newborn babies and infants and they had none with them. We worked to buy 300 vials (thats all we could buy) to avert the emergency for three hospitals but it is not enough. There are similar dire needs with the cancer hospital - with critical medications and vaccines - and, other regionals hospitals as well.
The government hospitals are free for everyone and given the current economic situation, a lot of people cannot afford to pay and get the care needed from the private hospitals.
The act of donating to this cause goes beyond mere charity, it is an expression of our collective humanity and the belief that every life matters. It is a reminder that our individual actions have the power to create a ripple effect that can bring about positive change in the world.
If you are willing and able, please consider donating. And, please share this with your network, if you can, so that more people can contribute to this effort. Even the smallest contribution can make a profound difference in the lives of those who are suffering.
Thank you!
Update 1: We were able to donate the first batch of vials to a children/women hospital in Sri Lanka. We raised ~Rs. 130k (~$400 after fees) and in collaboration with few more donors, we were able to buy 100 Vaminotact bottles. Thanks for everyone who donated. This fundraiser is not done. Please donate if you can to help more.
