Cameron’s first few months in sober living

5-30 Update. spence took cameron to Austin Texas last friday (5-27) and Cameron checked in to the sober living program. spence said that they really seem serious about recovery and host an environment to help Cameron learn to live without substances. we were unaware that with intensive outpatient care, it is recommended that this is treated like JOB #1; cameron will be going to work but won't be able to do a lot of long hours in the beginning as he learns to operate being sober (being guided by a sponsor and working the Intensive Outpatient Program). we are prepared to help for the first part of this as much as possible, and we are asking for others to help us with it. if our resources allowed we wouldn't ask for any $$ help, but as it stands we will need help. if any of you can help we will be so very grateful!!

5-30 Continued:  also, something very cool happened. the very first full day cameron was there (saturday) one of the potential sober coaches came and picked cameron up to take him to an AA convention that was in progress in downtown austin where there were speakers and workshops all aimed at sobriety and working the program.  cameron met lots of people in recovery from all over the world and also found a sponsor to help guide him as he learns to work the steps and live this new life.  this was the first time this conference was able to be put on since covid restrictions hit in 2020, so what a beautiful timing.

5-30 continued: recommendations will be made regarding how much time cameron should be able to work (a job) and still work the IOP, and he will be putting as much $$ toward his expenses as he is able. we feel like for about six months we will need help making sure he has the $$ needed to stay there and concentrate on but we have modified the dollar amount on this GoFundMe to reflect approximately three months worth of housing and food. thank you in advance for helping out!!

5-20-22 update. cameron has been at a great treatment facility for the last three weeks and has one week left. as a result of the counsel he is receiving there he has decided to go out of state to participate in a sober living community. his counselor has screened the place and it seems to be a very good place to start. im going to post some photos of their program... WE ARE ASKING FOR SOME HELP: cameron's first month has to be paid in advance (he is going over next friday May 27) and we are really not in a position to pay this at this time. we are trying to get help getting his first month paid. they will be helping him find a job so by the time the second month has to be paid he should be able to start paying his way. i usually ask for help on someone else's behalf but now im asking for us. we feel this is life of death. if you will please find the go fund me on this post and chip in a few dollars. we are trying to raise his $575 to pay for the lodging for the first month and $200 food and other expenses. we will be in control of the money and will send it to where its supposed to go. God bless you for your help!!
