Crockett Carquinez Firefighters Fundraiser!
Donation protected
Final update: Well I think I’m going to close out the fundraiser for the fire department. A friend of mine suggested I start it (but never donated, ha ha.) We did not make the $1k goal but we did OK! Thank you again to those who contributed!
Update: I’m a little baffled why my fundraiser isn’t doing well at all. So I lowered my goal from 10,000 to $5,000. Anyone wanna pitch in 10 bucks to help your local volunteer fire fighters? ❤️ ❤️
Hi! My last GoFundMe raised beyond my goal so I thought I’d give it another go. In case you didn’t hear about it yet, there was another fire that threatened to wipe out our beloved town. This is a picture of what it looked like after they responded and distinguished the last embers of a fire that is likely one of many to come, possibly in this season, but absolutely in seasons to come. Every one of our firefighters is a volunteer. Let me say that again. EVERY ONE of our firefighters is a VOLUNTEER! Let’s show them how much we love them and appreciate them by chipping in to support their devotion, courage and hard work!
The real goal that I chose is $16,025. It is based on the last recorded census in 2020 should each resident pitch in just $5. If you want to show your love and give back to them please kick down a donation to the RADDEST FIEFIGHTERS around! Of course no amount is too little or too great!
Don’t you think it would be fun to double our goal?? Let’s see if we can make this EPIC!! Because while many towns perish, we’re still here! So
Crocketeers and Portcostans - let’s do this!!! I can’t think of anything more fun than giving back to a town that has brought me so much joy for the last 25 years. I moved here when I was a young newlywed. My twin daughters were 10 years old at the time just starting out at Carquinez middle school. They went through high school and graduated and got jobs and moved out of the house and rented an apartment down on Loring, right across the street from the fire department. One of my daughters is type one diabetic. Actually they both are now, but at the time it was just one and I can’t tell you how many times they came to our rescue when her blood sugar dropped so low that she went into convulsions. Never mind the fact that they were across the street, lol, but they saved my daughter’s life more than once. So what’s $108 bucks compared to having your daughter alive?! Said daughter brought me my grandson who many of you know is the joy of my world!
If I’m being honest I really feel like everything I have that brings me joy in my life has been in large part because of the work of these brave volunteers. My daughters saw the value of first responders. One became an LVN and the other became an RN. Maybe these rescuers showing up on multiple occasions had a huge impact on them and they saw the value of saving lives up close and personal. I know many of you feel just like me and if you don’t then you just might if you stick around. There’s no place like home, in Crockett and Port Costa.
A few years ago when the fires were so bad none of us could breathe for weeks on and I swore I was getting out of Dodge! It was a really effing bad year and you know what I mean if you lived through it. I am getting a bit emotional writing this because I care so deeply. Anyway, enough rambling. Let’s start throwing down some cash folks! I don’t care what they do with the money, buy equipment or take a trip to Hawaii, they all deserve it.I I hope they get what they need and have enough ton just go play and relax and enjoy. ☀️
Thanks in advance for being a huge part of your community because this is what it’s all about—taking care of each other. What else are we here for if not to take care of each other?
