Crohns & Covid Longhauler Stephanie Spears
Donation protected
Meet my friend Stephanie Spears. Stephanie has been dealing with post-viral symptoms from a COVID-19 infection from March. Her journey falls into what is now known as a "long hauler", which is prolonged illness due to COVID.
Stephanie had a terrible case of Covid 19 and recovered, so she thought. (See news article below) Her COVID long hauler symptoms presented themselves as what is now being called Neuro-COVID Syndrome. She went back to work after a few weeks, but she experienced dizzy spells and had to be rushed from work to the hospital by ambulance. That was the first of many hospital stays for her and after months of seizure like episodes and debilitating headaches, she has still not been able to return to work. The neurological issues have left her with periodic seizures, headaches and constant stuttering.
As of today, she is still struggling to do "everyday tasks." We are grateful she has a phenomenal team of doctors working together and with her at Ascension Hospital in Novi, U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor and several other doctors and holistic health professionals across the country to help figure out how best to treat her, but this has been and will be a long road to recovery for her.
During this difficult time, she has changed her diet to alleviate the symptoms using a natural food delivery service, she started a rigorous regimen of vitamins and nutrients to help heal her and she has been living with loved ones just in case an episode happens and she’s alone. She wishes to return to her own home in the upcoming weeks.
As many of you may also know, these symptoms have been exacerbated by the fact that she has Crohn’s disease. So, she’s fighting two illnesses at once.
A lot of people have been asking to help while Stephanie has been sick and there hasn't been a whole lot of people can do because of the nature of the whole situation and with the pandemic. Her friends and family would like to use this campaign to support her physical and medical needs as we pray, she can return to work soon. This also helps fill in the gaps that her disability payments leave, any support helps. We know God has blessed Stephanie to live to share her testimony of strength and courage for a reason! Thank you for your help so far and your generous donation to help our sister, friend, daughter, mom, aunt, niece and cousin during her healing process.
