A New Roof for the Cronks

Donation protected
***2/4/18 - there have been many updates to our story since starting the campaign - our contractor did our roof incorrectly resulting in many leaks. We have been able to save most of what we need to replace the main portion of the roof which is where the damage is - and will worry about the rest later. But at this time are about $1600 short of the required $6200 needed. We have set up an appt with a good, well known contractor in town and should be able to have the roof fixed in 6-8 months. If you are able to help us raise the remaining funds needed we would be eternally grateful!!!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Hello, everyone.  My name is Serena - I am a married mother of 4 beautiful children.  Recently, we were told that our homeowner's insurance will not cover our roof until it is replaced.  Initially, this didn't seem like a big deal, and we planned on saving until Spring and having it replaced then,  and I have been picking up extra shifts as much as possible to help with this.  Sadly, in the last couple of weeks, we have sprung two leaks in the roof.   This is concerning as is, but one of them is in our son's room.  Our son received a bone marrow transplant five years ago - after having a bone marrow transplant someone's immune system is never quite the same, and since he and our youngest have alpha-one anti trypsin deficiency they are both at risk of lung issues as they grow - so the concern of mold is a big one.  We have talked to a couple of roofers and received a few quotes - all of them between 10-12,000 dollars due to the pitch of the roof, age, and how poorly it was initially built.  My husband became disabled three years ago and currently stays home with our youngest child, and I am currently working 3 jobs to support us.  I just don't see how we can afford this huge expense at this time, but our son's health and the health of the entire family can't afford to really go without it.  We are not ones to ask for help - in fact creating this page to do so has been very difficult for me.  We survived throughout Donavynn's treatment with only a couple small fundraisers and asking for that help was also difficult.  We would so appreciate any help that you can offer.  No donation is too small and will help us reach our goal and get a new roof before the winter comes. Thank you in advance!!!
