Cross-Country Move for Cancer Support

I'm reaching out to ask for your help at this difficult time.

I have truly been blessed recently by becoming a grandparent for the 2nd time in my life. Upon arriving in Florida, being with my family celebrating a new life, my reality kicked in. Wow, I said. I have cancer. I really can't explain the feeling. I guess you could say I was overwhelmed with the realization. It started kicking in when I had five appointments for the next two and a half months. That was very difficult for me. I realized then it was time to be with my family in Orlando, FL.

I've always wanted to come back to my family in Orlando, but the cost of moving clear across the country was just too expensive. When family asked me to move here, I was flabbergasted. It was something I've wanted to do for a while now. So the work began to try to find some help, and I started calling. I have a great advocate from the cancer center at Orlando Health. She checked into seeing if there were any funds, but none were available. One thing she did get me was an Uber card to get back and forth to all my appointments, which helped tremendously. I was so grateful. I checked with a lot of nonprofit organizations, Catholic Charities, Susan Gorman, and other nonprofits, but again, no funds. I kind of felt that my situation wasn't dire enough, and you know, it may not be. But they can't help me. So unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the funds needed to move by the 15th of May.

Thank goodness I have no out-of-pocket costs. My Medicare Humana plan is doing a great job, and my doctors at Orlando Health are amazing. However, we need funds for the cross-country move. I need to get back to Vegas to pack my things up and arrange personal things. I've estimated the cost to be about $3,000 for the move and airfare.
