OUR TEAM IS GOING TO MICHIGAN
for ODYSSEY OF THE MIND WORLD FINALS!
Big News!
Our Crossett Brook Middle School Odyssey of the Mind teams rocked their state competition on March 17. Both of our teams qualified to compete at World Finals to be held at Michigan State University May 22-25.
Our six-member sixth-grade team has decided to make the trip.
OM is a creative problem-solving competition where teams of up to 7 students work for months to prepare solutions to a problem with a list of unconventional requirements that they present in the form of a skit at their state contests. The more creative, imaginative, out-of-the-box their solutions are, the better!
OM is totally extracurricular, led by parent volunteer coaches. OM is not funded through the school budget.
For the trip to Michigan, our team plans to fundraise to pay its registration / room-and-board costs. Team members pay their own travel and incidentals.
Their goal is $5,000.
We have events planned, grant requests coming together and with this page, we're sharing the news with everyone we know who might like to chip in for this awesome experience.
World Finals brings together more than 15,000 students from all over the U.S. and a bunch of other countries. It's a chance to see the work of creative kids from many many places and get inspired for next year and beyond.
So - can you help out the team with, say, at least a $20 donation? We'd appreciate any support our friends and families might be able to give. Our team can't wait to represent our school and Vermont at such an amazing event.
Thank you for helping out!
