Hey! My name is Lian, and this GoFundMe is being made to help me pay for my mastectomy!
Puberty brought extremely negative changes for me, as a trans and neurodivergent person, which resulted in an extremely difficult adolescence, given my difficulty in dealing with things like menstruation and enormous dysphoria with my body. This resulted in many serious problems, whether physical due to the continuous use of the binder and even psychiatric problems such as self-mutilation and even attempted suicide, in an attempt to feel better about my body. But with this surgery, I will have a true reaffirmation of who I am, improving my self-esteem and gaining the happiness of being in a body that is right for me.
I plan to have this procedure at the Trans Center in Curitiba, PR, which specializes in mastectomies. They are well trained in this field, and have extensive experience with Transgender patients. Below are links to their website, as well as the personal page of Dr. Pablo Huber, the primary surgeon.
The estimated amount that is here in the crowdfunding ($3,900) will be to pay, in short, the cost of the hospital, anesthesiologists, surgeon's fees, auxiliary surgeon, the team of scrub technicians and post-operative costs (medicines, dressings, vest, and surgical socks). I am immensely grateful to anyone who supports this, even if it is with small amounts.
(Note: The fundraiser is in the name of an American friend, since GoFundMe does not deposit money to Brazilian bank accounts. Also, I prefer not to show my face for privacy and safety reasons.)
