Crown of Thorns Ministry

On Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 at approximately 11AM, the Crown of Thorns Ministry located at 2152 NW 119th Street in Miami, FL, was robbed and vandalized. The losses and damages to the property come just shy of (3) months prior to their 50 year required inspection.

The thieves broke into the ministry and stole the following items;

*4 AC units

Fridge Freezer full of meat

Two computers

Printer

Six tables

Microwave

*Water heater

Lights Face of fireplace

Keyboard

Sound system

Speakers

Mixer

TV

*Security system

Desk chair

*Double entry doors/Rear Door

Items with asterisks will be greatly appreciated as urgent items and donations.

The loss and damages reach approximately $35K and sadly the ministry has no insurance with everything needed to be restored by the required inspection date at the end of the year. The thieves attempted to take so much more but luckily our neighbor was in his establishment and chased them away.

The ministry has been a part of this community since 2004 and has remained dedicated to the betterment of the neighborhood and its residents. Crown of Thorns has been a place of aid, rehabilitation and hope for so many. Some of the ministries work include meals on Sundays, clothing drives, hotel accommodations for those needing a place to stay and so much more.

This heartfelt community ministry also has plans to expand their services and presence by working on opening up a school, transition homes for men and women, helping pregnant women and a job placement program.
