For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Greetings from Orlando, Florida. Our names are Ha Seok Na, Eric Ryu, Michael Yang, Kyung Ah Herber, Christina Na, Lauren Yang, Reana Na, and April Cho and we are members of Orlando Korean Presbyterian Church of America (OKPCA).
On June 3rd, OKPCA is sending us on a short-term mission to work side by side for one week with Missionary Jenny Kang of La Iglesia Icthus to minister to the children of Guatemala.
We will be traveling to the villages of Icthus, Las Majadas, Chicua, Las Marias, Varsovia, Pacanac. During our time at each village, our hopes are to successfully communicate and convey the love of God through preaching and teaching about Jesus Christ and the gospel, performing songs and skits, arts and craft activities, providing and fitting the children with reading glasses and supplying them with medicines.
The eight of us are greatly privileged for the opportunity to participate in this endeavor and we hope you are called to participate as well. This is how:
First and foremost:
PRAYER PRAYER PRAYER.
Our belief is that prayer -more than any other resource- will help sustain and nurture us during our time of preparing as well as our time spent there. Here are just some of our prayer requests:
-Our spiritual, physical and mental health
-That we have hearts of obedience and servitude
-Team cohesion and unity
-Safe travel
-For Missionary Jenny Kang's health
-For the children and families of Guatemala to have open hearts to receive Jesus Christ as their savior
-For God to provide, meet and supply our needs
If you feel a tugging at your heart for Guatemala and its people, or for anyone on our team and wish to do more to facilitate our success, please donate. Our goal is to raise $6000.00 to help offset our out of pocket expenses.
