Crys' eye surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hollie and I'm currently trying to raise the funds needed to pay for my senior rescue cat's eye surgery.
Myself and my partner (Kieran) rescued Crys in February and were under the impression that the protrusion of her right eye was purely cosmetic, but after numerous visits with the vets it's come to light that it's unfortunately a malignant tumour.
We made the decision last month to have her third eyelid and mass removed from the problem eye but during the surgery, we were told that the mass extended much further back than originally anticipated. We were told to monitor her progress and if the mass continues to grow, she would need a complete removal of her right eye. This was paid for by using our savings and we hoped that a further surgery would not be needed.
It has now become clear that the mass is persisting and beginning to grow over her eye again, meaning the only way to completely remove all possibility of the tumour growing is to completely remove her eye.
Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover this type of procedure and I am left to turn to the generosity of others in order to make sure that Crys receives the surgery she needs.
Crys has not had the easiest of lives: she's timid, has stunted growth due to malnutrition, no teeth, and we hope to give her comfiest retirement years that we can offer to her but first, we need to get her health in order.
Any amount is appreciated more than you will ever know, but please don't feel you're under any obligation to donate. Please consider sharing this if a donation isn't a viable option for you.
Thank you,
Hollie, Kieran & Crys
