In loving memory of Crystal Alexandria Cooper
On July 24, 2023 Crystal gained her wings.
After not hearing from Crystal on Sunday and a failure for her to show up to work Monday, my mother and I, decided to do a wellness check at her new place of residence as this was unusual behavior seeing that she never not answered her phone. Upon arriving at her apartment a neighbor informed us "that a man had been banging on her door trying to get in but she would not let him in followed by a boom boom boom sound". In the process of waiting for the police to arrive maintenance unlocked the door for us.
Upon being let into the residence we discovered the unimaginable. Crystal was an innocent woman who succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries to her neck, back and extremities. Police have ruled it a murder-suicide. The man who did this decided to also take his own life. No words will ever be able to describe the pain a mother/family feels after finding their loved one lifeless. Seeing the struggle and not being able to be there to help her will forever be in their thoughts. Her life was taken too soon in her own home; a place where she should've been safe and comfortable.
Crystal was so full of life. A graduate of Simsbury High School, she made a memorable impression on everyone she met. She was so creative and anyone who knew her knew how she felt about her fashion. She had dreams of becoming a fashion designer and had created many custom pieces which she would then model herself. She also was a caregiver with DDS/Horizon and was very hardworking. She loved to sing.
She just moved out of our mother's home literally 2.5 weeks prior and was so excited to start a new chapter of her life before this tragedy struck. Gone too soon, she is survived by her mother, father, seven sisters, three brothers, and four nieces, all her aunts, uncles, and cousins - all heartbroken by this senseless tragedy.
She did not deserve this. Crystal is very kind-hearted, caring, and friendly. She has never even been in a fight before. She is a fun person, always smiling and happy. Never in a million years would we have imagined Crystal's life being taken from us in such a horrible way. We weren't ready for her to go.
We have created this GoFundMe campaign to extend a helping hand to our mother in this time of profound need, as she has 3 younger children that she still needs to support.
We humbly request your support and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a difference to our family in this time of unfortunate and unexpected circumstances.
Crystal's spirit will forever live on and through her family, friends, and community collectively. She will be truly missed.
Thank you for your unwavering support.
