Hi! I am Sarah Anene-Adedeji, co-founder of Crystal Lens in Lagos, Nigeria. Crystal Lens provides career development and training while connecting young people from low-income communities with opportunities to acquire 21st-century skills and gain hands-on work experience. Currently, Crystal Lens is an affiliate of UrbanPromise International, a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit based in the United States of America. Here's our story.
IMAGINE! A safe space for students in Lagos, Nigeria, that makes dreams come true with books to explore careers, a technology learning center, and a cozy reading corner. You can help build their futures!
Having realized that many of our students did not have access to books and other resources needed to complete their assignments, do further research, and improve their learning, we started a mini library with a mobile cart under the tree last year as an urgent intervention.
Today, we are working on renovating a dedicated library and career resource space inside their school with your help. The space will house the library, a reading corner, a mini-computer lab, and a career resource desk and serve as a safe meeting space for the girl's empowerment program.
Here are ways you can help and how we will recognize your generosity.
- Learning Hall - $2,500
- Mini Computer Lab - $2,000
- Reading Corner - $1,500
- Book Space - $1,000
- Career Resource Desk - $1,000
- Recreational Corner (located outside the library space) - $1,000
- 10 Book Donations - $100 each
Please watch our video to view the transformation and its impact on our students, and support us in any way you can. Kindly help us in any way you can to renovate the library space and manage its operations for a year."
