Help Crystal Conquer Colon Cancer

Hello, my name is Crystal. Many people look at me and declare that I am a pillar of strength. But, only through praying for courage in my moments of deepest fear and weakness, have I persevered.
I was diagnosed with lupus complicated by hypertension at age 9. To make matters worse, at age 14 doctors told me that I might live to the ripe old age of 25. Again using the only resources I know, faith and prayer, I set out to accomplish as many life goals as possible (graduation, prom, college, and career).
At 23, I experienced complete kidney failure. After eight years on dialysis, a successful transplant added 12 years of quality life, a great career, and family. Things were great until that day in September 2009 when a biopsy confirmed breast cancer. WOW!!!! I was speechless! I regrouped, gathered my support team and said, “Okay, God. What do we do with this one?"
Let’s fast forward to January 2016. After, 5 years and 7 months of 'cancer free' living I was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer.
This Friday, April 29, 2016, I will begin 12 treatments of Folfox chemotherapy over a 6 month span. This will require me to travel every other weekend for a 3 day treatment. I am asking for assistance to help with the cost of (1) 20% deductible of $4800; (2) $900 vitamins and supplements not covered by insurance; (3) $1200 travel; and (4) $600 for meals. I currently only receive disability from my previous job and Medicare due to kidney failure. I have no other support.
Maybe not in the best of health, but I am still here thriving and grateful for these 49 years. I’ve accomplished so much, but my list is not complete. I have so much more life to live and to give! I want to spend quality time with my three awesomely adorable, silly grandchildren, and my young nieces and nephews. I want to continue to provide support and companionship for my elders. I want to continue my community work to help build and create a bright future for our youth. I want to continue to motivate others to find and fulfill their divine purpose. Finally, I want to publish many books.
At the suggestion and urging of a respected friend, I humbly submit this request. I never hesitate to assist others, but it is particularly difficult to ask for help for me (especially financial). However, I realize that it is impossible to undertake this journey alone. Any level of financial support is graciously appreciated. Your prayers are also welcomed and will contribute greatly to my strength and recovery.
Thanks and Blessings to you!!!!
