Crystal’s fight against Transverse Myelitis

Hi my name is Linda I am creating this go fund me for my daughter Crystal she is 28 years old and 24 weeks pregnant On December 27. 2023 She wasn’t feeling well that morning as the day went on she became worse and couldn’t feel her legs I called 911 they took her to nearest hospital they called in neurologist they had to move her to another hospital that would be able to take care of her and baby if the baby was to born early she was put in ICU due to she might have to be put on a ventilator they diagnosed her with Transverse Myelitis (TM) and a autoimmune disease, she is paralyzed and they started plasmapheresis and they have her on a high dose steroid which a decision had to be made with the steroid because of the baby it could cause premature birth The doctors have told us that this is a very rare condition that it’s one of eight in the United States and they have never seen a case in pregnant women and that she would have to go to a rehabilitation center and that we would have to prepare our home to make it accessible for wheelchair and adaptable for her needs Crystal is a great mom and has a little girl that needs her home we are trying to help bring her home and these donations will be spent to help with the cost to make the house assessable for her and also whatever the insurance will not pay for cover any little bit will help Thank you all

Update She was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis a month ago she was in ICU for 4 days and the hospital for 12 finally we was able to get her home she fought them not to send her to a rehab due to Brooklyn being home she is in Pt And Ot 3 to 4 times a week in which I take her she has an amazing team that is very determined to get her walking again she is able to walk with a walker short distances with her feet dragging she has drop foot and they did tell us that it might not get better and it could be permanent we have a appointment tomorrow to see how much nerve damage is done and hope to get some more answers with all of this The Doctor’s did say they have never seen this condition in a pregnant woman as far as the baby he’s doing ok they did tell us he could be early due to the treatments that Crystal had to have due to the Transverse Myelitis She had to quit college and she might not be able to follow her dream or the career as a police officer I want to Thank you all that has shared and donated we still need some things to help her and now with us taking her to therapy 3-4 days it could help us with transportation Thanks again and Please continue to Pray
