Crystal's Heart & Lung Transplant Journey
Donation protected
In 1989 Crystal was diagnosed with a condition called Sarcoidosis, which causes scar tissue leading to organ damage. Over the last 30 years the Sarcoidosis attacked Crystals lungs causing her lungs to fail little by litte. Eventually the lung damage caused heart failure which led to an urgent need for a heart and lung transplant.
Fortunately, Crystal was cared for by top medical professionals at UC Davis Hospital in Sacramento who made a recommendation for transplant and transfer to Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto.
The transplant was a success!! However, the road to recovery is long and Crystal will need to remain near Stanford Hospital over the next several months.
Crystal is extremely blessed to survived such a major surgery, but the hardship for her family will be significant as she is 2 hours away from her nearest relative. To be with Crystal, she will need to rent and apartment in Palo Alto and significant time will be taken away from work by her family. Crystal's family hopes that you will give whatever you can to support her and her family through these challenging times.
We also ask that you keep Crystal in your prayers as she recovers. We appreciate all of you for your suppport.
