Crystel's Fundraiser to Build a Fence

Hi, my name is Crystel Denton and I am the Founder/President of Ranger's Legacy Equine Rescue. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned, abused, neglected, and starved horses in New Mexico and Surrounding states.

 

Can you help us? Before we moved our facility to our Roswell, NM property, our new next door neighbor had removed the majority of our perimeter fencing on our 49 acres. Some of his property butts up to ours so when he puts cattle in this particular pasture, they have access to our property. He has hundreds of acres and several different pastures he can put them in. Last year, he sold them after a couple of months saying he would not be bringing them back until the drought was over. During that time, I asked him to please put our fence back up before bringing any more cattle in which he kept telling me was our responsibility. Cut to present time. He has, once again, put cattle on the property surrounding ours. We are spending hours and days fixing fence (my horse pens are hotwire because we cannot afford to put up other fencing) and filling water tanks. We are constantly pushing cattle and Hannah and I cannot leave our property together. One of us always has to be here. This is where YOU come in. We need your help.

 

We need to build our perimeter fence back as soon as possible. I have spoken with an attorney and we can win a lawsuit against our neighbor, but it would cost us up to $50,000 and take some time. In the meantime, his cattle will continue to destroy our fences, drink our water, and over graze our land. My thought is this; if you are going to help us with the funds, then lets raise less and do more! We need you because we cannot do it alone!

 

As much as I would like to make an example of the neighbor, our money and time is better spent building a new fence. We need to raise, at least, $12,000 to get a fencing company to come in and get the fencing done right and done quick. You can make this happen! You can help to ensure that the horses are safe, that we are safe, and we can get back to what we are really here for. Helping those horses that need us to give them a second chance. We are asking you to help us regain our property because we need you to be able to get it done right!
