CS Curtis Reynolds Memorial Fund

The Troy Police Department is mourning the loss of Communications Supervisor Curtis Reynolds, Jr. Curtis died today as a result of a heart attack that happened on duty on September 19, 2020, his 50th birthday.

Curtis was working in the Troy Police Department Communications Section, waiting to take over for midnight shift, when he became unresponsive at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

CPR was performed by multiple police employees. Alliance Mobile Health, already in the building for another duty, responded quickly and transported Curtis to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital.

Curtis was treated at the hospital for the last several days. As a result of the heart attack, however, Curtis sustained diminished brain activity and passed away today.

Curtis was a key employee in the Department’s dispatch center, the part of the agency often charged with taking phone calls from frantic citizens and sending officers to dangerous calls.

During his 29 year career, Curtis received 16 commendations for outstanding service. He started with the Department in 1991 as a Police Service Aide and was promoted in 1998 to Communications Supervisor.

Curtis is survived by three children and his parents. His father, Curtis Reynolds Sr., retired as a lieutenant from the Troy Police Department.

Curtis will be greatly missed by many. His positive impact on the Troy community, his coworkers, friends and family will be long lasting.


All the money raised will go to assist his 3 children with funeral costs and any other costs associated with his unexpected passing via his Father, Curtis Reynolds Sr.  Remaining funds will be dispersed among his children at the discretion of Curtis Sr.  All funds will be turned over to Curtis Sr at the completion of campaign
