Angel's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Ashley Brewer. I'm blessed to be a friend of Angel Taylor and her "Gigi" Ms. Barbara Stapleton. I want to tell Angel's story to the best of my ability, although I'm sure there are no words to describe the things they have been through or just how strong of a family they are. Angel was in a four-wheeler accident on May 16, 2020. No one knew it, but she had an avm, an abnormal connection between arteries and veins, usually in the brain. Her's just happened to be in her spine. She had many, many months of tests. Many tears. Many nights where she said she just wanted God to take her home. She faced deep depression before going into major surgery, devastated that she was at such a high risk of not making it through the surgery. A surgery that was only supposed to take 2-4 hours took 10 hours. She went through physical therapy at the Shepherd's Center in Atlanta for months. Her surgery was in September of 2021, and she came home in December, just in time for Christmas. She still goes to physical therapy and is working towards regaining the ability to walk.
Ms. Barbara takes care of Angel. She helps load and unload her in their car; she helps her complete tasks, helps her into bed at night. She loves Angel and does a lot to help Angel continue pushing toward her goals. Angel's Gigi has an older family home that needs renovations in order for Angel to be able to stay there. Since it hasn't been renovated yet, they have had no choice but to stay with another family member. Ms. Barbara wants to give Angel a home that is fully accessible, and that can meet her needs during her road to recovery. Ms. Barbara applied for some small grants and has been approved for some but hasn't yet reached the goal of renovating their home altogether. We are raising funds and accepting building supplies to remodel their house and give Angel the home she needs to continue on this journey. The goal amount we have set will not completely cover the renovation costs, but Ms. Barbara has let me know that she will appreciate any amount given or supplies donated.
Ms. Barbara is hardworking, caring, supportive, giving, loving, and more. She wants nothing more than to give her granddaughter the place and things she needs for her recovery. Angel is brave, strong, hopeful, and such a beautiful girl both inside and out. If you can give to this family, it would be much appreciated. Please join us in praying for Angel. Pray for strength, understanding, and for God's will for her life. We have already seen him use her and her story of trusting God to be a blessing to others; we pray that it will continue to. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your prayers and/or donation.
