Hello!! My name is Alford Harris II. I am currently in the 10th grade and have discovered a love for photography. Here's a little bit about myself.
As I look over the years I'm amazed at how God kept me and continues to keep me. Born full term; When I was only four months I began to get really sick. The doctors' outlook for my life was bleak and they did not expect me to live past a year old. Although the journey has been long with many complications God continues to keep me.
Even though I had challenges, you couldn't tell me I was any different than any other kid. At a young age I developed a love for sports, however with asthma, allergies, and other still unknown medical illnesses I was unable to play. That didn't keep me from learning the game. It's crazy to think that at 5-years old I had so much love for the game that I would watch Sportscenter every morning before going to school. I even created my own hand-written statistics sheet for the season of my favorite teams. Even though I couldn't play I managed my middle school basketball team and now I'm the manager of the varsity basketball team at my high school. The support I receive from my teammates and coaching staff has been amazing. When I've been out sick they always reach out to see how I'm doing and let me know that I'm missed. Just over a year ago I had a life-threatening asthma attack that landed me in the ICU on a ventilator for four days. The doctors were so concerned about my survival I was nearly airlifted to another hospital, but God is good, I'm still here.
Because of my life's path my outlook on life is quite different. I'm truly grateful to God for the parents that he's given me to nurture me on this journey. A few years ago, I was given a camera at Christmas and discovered that I love to capture precious life moments through photography. I've been given several opportunities to photograph dance conferences, proms, graduation parties, and other special events like Judge Mathis' recent annual Turkey Giveaway. I've often been sought after and encouraged to take my photography to the next level.
I'm so excited to announce that I have recently established a photography business of my own. I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and this venture will give me a great opportunity to do what I love and earn some money. As I prepare for my first official engagement in 2015, I'm looking to raise $3,500 in donations to fund the purchase of equipment and software to jump start my business. Any amount you can donate would be appreciated. I hope you find it in your heart to help me reach my goal of $3,500. I appreciate any amount you can donate. Thank you so much for your donation.
As my journey continues I thank all who have supported me in the past and all that still stand with me. I'm grateful for all of the prayers for me and my family as I continue to hold on to God's promises for me. I'm looking forward to a blessed 2015!
