CSUSB Social Work Students Need Your Help!
Donation protected
HELLO! We are a group of social work students from California State University, San Bernardino, and we're seeking support for our COMMUNITY ADVOCACY PROJECT for our policy class!
In these challenging times, many in our communities are struggling. The availability of affordable housing is declining, while the costs of groceries and basic necessities are rising. Those who are most vulnerable and marginalized in our communities are feeling the impact the hardest. With mutual aid, we can help alleviate some of the burdens faced by our vulnerable neighbors!
Our aim is to assist the homeless population in Victorville, California, by providing them with essential items in care packages for the summer season. To achieve this, we need to raise funds to create approximately 100 care packages. Each package will contain essential items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, and more. Based on funds we have received by APRIL 30th, we will be organizing the care packages accordingly. Additionally, we are hoping to raise enough money to provide them with re-usable water canisters.
Once we have assembled our care packages, we will distributing them to the homeless at Victorville's new Wellness Center Campus!
The recently inaugurated Wellness Center Campus in Victorville marks a significant milestone as San Bernardino County's first non-congregate care facility. With its distinctive design, the center plays a pivotal role in supporting both sheltered and unsheltered individuals to stabilize and begin the process of rebuilding their lives. Through its innovative layout, the campus offers a comprehensive range of vital services, including housing, medical assistance, case management, and more!
