CU Climbing Team - World University Games
Donation protected
The sport of climbing has grown rapidly in recent years which has given dedicated athletes like those on the CU Boulder Climbing Team opportunities to travel and compete at a high level. Every two years, the International University Sports Federation organizes The World University Games where the top 5 US athletes in each discipline (sport, bouldering, and speed) per gender are given the opportunity to compete. The World University Games are being held in Koper, Slovenia this year.
These 30 competitors are chosen as part of USA Climbing’s Collegiate Climbing Series. This year, the CU Boulder Climbing Team had 44 team members compete in this Collegiate Climbing Series with 5 Athletes qualifying for The World University Games!
Tate Jennings: Bouldering and Sport
Matthew Sherman: Bouldering
Sam Hsin: Sport
Jacob Kelleghan: Sport
Anika Shoemaker: Sport
This is the most members the CU Climbing Team has ever sent to a world level competition and is a unique opportunity for each athlete.
Due to the current status of climbing as a sport, there is no funding coming from the university or USA Climbing to help our athletes travel and compete in Slovenia. Help us to send our Buffs to compete at the highest level of collegiate competition!
